Polka Dot Pocket, Tie Dye Shirt

PLEASE NOTE, THAT WHEN THIS SHIRT WAS BROUGHT, IT WAS SIMPLE A PEACH SHIRT WITH A FEW HOLES IN IT.

For some strange reason I have an attraction to shirts with a grungy look to it and when passing this in Forever 21, I couldn't let it go. The shirt was very plain; a peach color with some holes in it but I still loved it. Being that the shirt is so plain though, I decided to do a little something to it. I wanted to tie dye it but only had food coloring and while doing my research I read that food coloring only dyes well with wool and silk fabrics - obviously I don't follow directions lol. So after I dyed it I washed it in cold water to give the colors a more faded look. I then put studs around the collar. Days later, I saw a shirt that I barely wore laying around my room with a black and white pocket on it and I immediately thought to cut it out and put it on the shirt. I love the outcome :) What do you guys think?

Note: What somewhat inspired me to put a pocket on this shirt;I've always wanted one of those cool looking shirts with the designed pocket but they were only sold over seas and I didn't wan to pay a lot of money for a basic tea shirt with a cool pocket sewn on to it. I will post a photo below so you guys can see the pocket shirt. But my message of the day: Don't pay for something that you can make yourself ;)

  2. That looks amazing! Do you know if the dyes run onto other clothes in the washing machine though? otherwise I'm definitely trying this! xx

  3. @Emily I'm not sure but I would definitely assume so because due to the fact that its cotton and dyed with food coloring, the dye comes out easily. I would just hand wash it with cold water.
